Paraffin wax is a white or colourless soft solid derivable from petroleum, coal or oil shale, that consists of a mixture of hydrocarbon molecules containing between twenty and forty carbon atoms.
Paraffin wax odourless, cost effective and reliable wax for making candles.
This medium melt paraffin wax has a melting point of 60 to 63 degrees Celsius and is used for candles that need to stand on their own - votives, pillars, and other moulded candles. Weissen can be added to reduce spotting and increase fragrance hold.
Paraffin wax can also be used as an ingredient to manufacture surf wax for surf boards and glide wax for skis and snowboards.
Paraffin wax is available in blocks.
This wax is the best quality for making long lasting candles.
The melting point is 140°F (60°C) making it ideal for pouring into metal molds, silicone molds, plastic molds as well as making tapers. Melt this into a liquid, add color, scents, shells, flowers, glass, or anything you want. Make unique candles!
If using Paraffin for batiking, mix with beeswax. The more paraffin you add to you batik wax mixture, the more it will crack, giving you more hair-thin lines characteristic of traditional batiking. (the dye will run between the cracked wax) The more beeswax you add to your mixture, the less cracks you will have, because beeswax has more flex than the parafin.
